The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) sealed 14 locations across Lahore Division for record tampering and non-payment of taxes, including outlets of five major food chains operating in the region.
The PRA conducted enforcement operations in Lahore Division, targeting businesses found guilty of falsifying tax records and failing to meet their outstanding tax obligations.
PRA teams recovered tens of millions of rupees during the operations and issued warning notices to numerous businesses found to be operating in violation of provincial tax regulations.
Authorities imposed heavy fines on businesses that had submitted fraudulent tax returns, holding them accountable for deliberately misreporting financial figures in official documentation.
PRA teams also sealed the offices of 10 property developers in Rawalpindi for non-payment of dues, expanding the enforcement crackdown beyond the food and hospitality sector.
The Chairman of Punjab Revenue Authority warned that bank accounts of individuals who fail to comply will be frozen to ensure recovery of outstanding fines and penalties.
