Google has started rolling out new Gemini-powered features in Chrome for Mac and PC users in the U.K. The update adds a new “Ask Gemini” button with a sparkle icon in the upper right corner of the browser. The new integration lets users access Gemini directly inside Chrome without opening a separate app or webpage. Google says the feature is designed to help users work across multiple tabs more easily.
With Gemini in Chrome, users can compare and summarize information from different websites at the same time. This could make research and browsing tasks much faster. The AI assistant also works with several Google services. These include Calendar, YouTube, Gmail, and Maps. As a result, users can complete certain tasks without leaving the webpage they are viewing.
For example, users can jump to a specific point in a YouTube video, schedule a meeting through Google Calendar, or draft an email in Gmail directly from Chrome. Google is also introducing Nano Banana, a new AI image tool. The feature allows users to create images from text prompts through Chrome’s sidebar.
The company confirmed that these AI tools will also arrive on iOS devices in the U.K. next month. However, Google has not yet shared an exact release date. Users who do not want the new feature can remove the Gemini button. They simply need to right-click the “Ask Gemini” icon and select the “Unpin” option.
Google first launched Gemini integration in Chrome for AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers. Later, in September 2025, the company expanded access to all desktop users in the United States. After that, Google gradually rolled out the feature to more than 50 countries.
The latest expansion shows Google’s continued effort to bring Gemini deeper into its products and make AI tools more accessible to everyday users.
