The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) has made fire and life safety certificates mandatory for all private educational institutions operating in Islamabad.
Under the new requirement, private schools must obtain fire safety certificates from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and submit their fire safety No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to PEIRA within 15 days.
PEIRA has directed all private educational institutions to ensure compliance with the new safety requirements within the given deadline.
The authority warned that schools failing to submit the required fire safety certificates and NOCs within 15 days could face sealing action.
The move is aimed at strengthening safety standards in private educational institutions and protecting students, teachers, and other school staff from fire-related incidents and other emergencies.
PEIRA has also instructed schools to strictly implement fire and life safety measures as part of efforts to create safer learning environments across Islamabad.
