Google has released its 2018 revenue figures which showed that the search giant’s primary revenue source is ads but it intends to change it towards the devices ecosystem. Over the past few years, Google has solidified its position in the smartphones segment through the Pixel brand and making itself a solid competitor to the likes of Apple, Huawei, Samsung, and company. To expand further, Google is now looking for a Vice President, Hardware Engineering, for its wearables division.

The role primarily relates to Hardware Engineering and taking a closer look at the job description on Google’s website, the individual would be responsible for the “design, development, and shipment of all Google’s Wearable products.” There is also a similar job listing of Manager Design – Wearables who will be reporting to the Director Design in for conceiving next-generation wearable devices. These job listings give a strong hint that we will be seeing a Pixel watch release sometime in the coming years.

Previous rumors regarding the Pixel Watch were shut down by Wear OS Director saying there was no chance of its release last year, as we saw. But with these job listings, it is becoming apparent that Google will be focusing on making its own smartwatch or at least partnering with other manufacturers to create a product based on their own design like they do with the Pixel phones.

Are you excited regarding a new Pixel Watch from Google? Do you think it will increase Google’s revenues or be a loss? Let us know!
