Honor has listed a new budget smartphone called the Play20C on its global website. The phone closely matches the recently introduced Honor X5d s in both design and hardware. The two phones share most of their specifications, suggesting the Play20C could be the global version of the X5d s. However, there is one key hardware difference between the models.
The 4GB RAM and 128GB storage version of the Play20C uses the Unisoc T615 chipset. Other configurations come with the Unisoc T610 processor. The Play20C also adds a Sunrise Gold color option that is not offered with the X5d s. It is also available in Forest Green and Midnight Black.
At the front, the phone features a 6.78-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution. The display supports a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations. Honor has also added a 2-inch touchscreen to the back of the phone. It sits next to the 50MP main camera and offers another way to interact with the device.
Power comes from a large 6,000mAh battery. The phone supports 15W charging, which is aimed at keeping charging speeds reasonable for a budget device. The Play20C is now listed on Honor’s global website. It has also appeared in Nigeria, where the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model starts at NGN 149,900, or around $113.
With its rear display and large battery, the Play20C stands out among Honor’s budget phones. Its close hardware match with the X5d s also points to a wider rollout for the device.
