Internet services are now fully operational across Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Earlier today, users faced frustrating connectivity issues. However, the situation has officially returned to normal, bringing an end to the brief panic.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) officially confirmed the complete restoration of internet services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Technical teams successfully fixed the fault within the optical fiber network of a telecom operator. Consequently, mobile data and Wi-Fi connectivity have returned to normal across the twin cities. With the technical fault completely resolved, the PTA stated that citizens can now browse without any interruptions.
Previously, the region experienced a noticeable connectivity breakdown. As we detailed in our earlier coverage of the internet disruption hitting Islamabad and Rawalpindi, authorities quickly mobilized technical crews. Initially, the PTA assured the public that teams were actively working to repair the optical fiber fault. Following through on that promise, the technical teams successfully restored services in all the affected areas.
Alongside the digital disruption, a physical security situation briefly developed in the Twin Cities earlier this week. This tension originally emerged after groups announced a protest for Sunday (today). Fortunately, those protests have now been delayed, easing the overall situation in the capital region.
