Authorities have suspended internet and mobile phone services across Azad Kashmir (AJK) from 11:30 pm, with the blackout expected to remain in place until June 12.
As per the media reports, the Joint Awami Action Committee has called for state-wide protests across Azad Kashmir, scheduled to begin on June 9 across the region.
The federal government approved deployment of 1,500 Islamabad police officers to Azad Jammu Kashmir following a formal request from the AJK government earlier this week.
The contingent includes one DIG, two SSPs, and four SPs, alongside eight DSPs, 16 inspectors, and 22 sub-inspectors assigned to maintain order during demonstrations.
Officials confirmed 70 assistant sub-inspectors and 1,382 constables form part of the force drawn from CTD, CPC, and Safe City divisions.
Personnel were additionally selected from the Security Division, Operations Division, Logistics Division, Islamabad Traffic Police, ATS, and Special Branch to reinforce security.
The AJK government had formally requested federal support earlier this week, prompting Islamabad authorities to finalise deployment plans aimed at ensuring stability throughout the state.
