A new leak has revealed the possible battery sizes for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. If the information is correct, it will offer the largest battery ever used in a non-folding iPhone.
According to the leak, Apple will again use two battery versions for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The difference depends on whether the phone has a physical SIM slot or supports only eSIM.
The eSIM-only version is expected to pack a 5,425 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the model with a physical SIM slot could feature a 5,235 mAh battery. However, the leak has not been confirmed. Therefore, these battery capacities should be treated as unofficial for now.
If the report turns out to be accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro Max will even surpass the 5,000 mAh battery inside the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. Apple has never focused on offering the biggest battery numbers. Instead, the company has relied on software and chip efficiency to improve battery life.
For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max with a physical SIM slot comes with a 4,823 mAh battery. On the other hand, the eSIM-only version includes a 5,088 mAh battery.
This means the physical SIM version of the iPhone 18 Pro Max could gain an extra 412 mAh over its predecessor. Likewise, the eSIM-only model may receive a 337 mAh increase.
Although the reported upgrade looks impressive, Apple has not confirmed these details. More reliable information is expected to appear as the iPhone 18 launch gets closer.
