Islamabad Police has issued a detailed traffic diversion plan for Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq on May 10, announcing road closures and alternate routes for commuters travelling across Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
According to officials, traffic diversions will remain in place from 6 PM to 12 AM on several major roads in the capital, while the entry of heavy transport vehicles will remain prohibited from 4 AM to 12 AM on May 10.
Under the announced plan, Srinagar Highway will remain closed in both directions from Koralianwala Chowk to Peshawar Mor. Islamabad Expressway from Faizabad to Khayaban Chowk will also remain closed for traffic travelling to and from Faisal Avenue.
Traffic police have advised commuters travelling from the Motorway or Islamabad Chowk towards Bhara Kahu or Murree to use 9th Avenue via Colonel Sher Khan Road (IJP Road) and continue through Murree Road.
Similarly, travellers coming from Murree or Bhara Kahu towards the Motorway have been directed to use Murree Road to Faizabad before proceeding through Colonel Sher Khan Road and 9th Avenue.
For motorists travelling from the Motorway towards the Red Zone or nearby sectors, authorities have recommended routes through Peshawar Mor via 9th Avenue and Jinnah Avenue or Margalla Road.
Residents of the Red Zone travelling towards Rawalpindi or the Motorway have also been advised to use Margalla Road or Jinnah Avenue to connect with 9th Avenue.
Meanwhile, commuters travelling from the Expressway towards Islamabad sectors should move through Faizabad via Colonel Sher Khan Road to 9th Avenue.
Authorities also announced that from 5 PM to 12 AM, all light transport vehicles (LTVs) will be diverted from Rewat T-Cross towards Rawalpindi.
Citizens have been urged to follow the diversion plan and use alternate routes to avoid congestion and travel disruptions during the event.
