The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department has announced that all public and private universities, degree-awarding institutions, and colleges across the province will remain closed every Friday and Saturday due to the ongoing fuel crisis.
According to an official notification issued by the department, the decision applies to all higher education institutions operating in the province.
To minimize disruption to academic activities, institutions have been advised to conduct online or hybrid classes on the remaining working days wherever possible.
The notification states that the new schedule will remain in effect for two months or until further orders, whichever comes first.
The provincial government said the measure has been introduced as part of efforts to reduce fuel consumption while ensuring that educational activities continue through alternative learning methods.
