Thousands of students appearing in examinations under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore may soon benefit from a completely paperless admission process.
According to sources, the board is considering ending the requirement for students to submit hard copies of admission forms. Currently, candidates from both public and private institutions must provide physical documents despite completing their applications online.
Each year, nearly 600,000 students appear in matriculation examinations, while more than 500,000 candidates take intermediate exams under the Lahore Board.
Under the proposed system, the entire admission process would be conducted online, eliminating the need for manual form submissions. Officials believe the move will save students time, reduce administrative expenses, and improve overall efficiency.
Sources said a final decision is expected during the upcoming meeting of the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen. If approved, the initiative could provide relief to more than one million students annually.
