The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has completed special arrangements to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply during Muharram-ul-Haram, with senior officials and technical teams placed on high alert across its service areas.
According to officials, the Punjab government has assigned senior officers to perform special duties at the central control room to oversee power operations and respond promptly to any emergencies during the holy month.
On the directives of LESCO Chief Executive Officer Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt, dedicated teams comprising deputy managers, assistant managers, executive engineers (XENs), and other technical personnel will remain on duty from June 17 to June 26.
The deployed teams will closely monitor the power distribution network, particularly in areas hosting Majalis and Muharram processions, to prevent disruptions and maintain a stable electricity supply throughout religious events.
LESCO officials said rapid response mechanisms have been activated to address any faults, technical issues, or unexpected outages. Field staff and operational teams have been instructed to remain fully prepared to restore power immediately in case of any disruption.
CEO Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt emphasized that all officers and employees will remain vigilant throughout Muharram to ensure that mourners can participate in religious gatherings without inconvenience caused by electricity interruptions.
The arrangements form part of LESCO’s broader operational plan aimed at facilitating Muharram observances and ensuring reliable electricity services across Lahore and other areas under the company’s jurisdiction during the sacred month.
