The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has imposed a complete ban on electricity bill installments throughout June as part of its efforts to achieve recovery targets before the end of the fiscal period.
According to reports, LESCO has instructed its field officers not to allow installment plans for either current electricity bills or outstanding dues. The company has directed all relevant officials to ensure maximum recovery of pending amounts in accordance with assigned collection targets.
Under the latest directives, the recovery drive will cover current consumers as well as long-standing defaulters. Domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers will all fall within the scope of the campaign.
LESCO has also ordered that electricity connections disconnected due to non-payment should not be restored until all outstanding dues have been fully cleared. The move is intended to strengthen recovery efforts and improve the collection of unpaid bills across its service areas.
Officials believe the stricter measures will help the company meet its financial recovery objectives by the end of June. However, LESCO has not yet issued an official public statement regarding the reported suspension of the installment facility.
The development comes amid broader efforts within Pakistan’s power sector to improve revenue collection and reduce financial losses caused by unpaid electricity bills and persistent defaults.
