NADRA Launches Pak ID App’s New Version with Digital ID and Facial Verification

Islamabad: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a new version of its Pak ID Mobile App, introducing key features aimed at simplifying identity verification for Pakistani citizens.

The latest version, 3.8.1, of the Pak ID app brings two new features to boost accessibility and security through digital identity cards and alternative biometric verification methods.

Key Features of New Version 3.8.1

• Alternative Verification for Elderly or Fingerprint Issues

The app introduces facial recognition as an alternative verification method to support individuals who face challenges with fingerprints, particularly those who are elderly.

• Digital Identity Card Storage

A major update is the introduction of a dematerialized digital identity card feature, which lets users store the soft version of their CNIC on smartphones for quick identity certificate retrieval.

• Complete Online Application Process

Through the app, users can complete every step of identity card or family registration certificate applications without needing to visit NADRA offices because they can upload documents, submit biometric data, and apply digital signatures.

• Simplified Amendment Procedures

The process for making changes to identity cards has been further streamlined, ensuring greater convenience for users.
