The National Highway Authority (NHA) has successfully completed the competitive bidding process for 81 out of 93 toll plazas across Pakistan, generating a significant revenue surplus in the latest toll plaza auctions for 2026–27.
According to official details, the auction process was conducted in a transparent and orderly manner under approved procedures, with Sadaqat Ullah Akhunzada, GM Revenue/ITS at NHA Headquarters, serving as the auctioneer. The bidding results showed strong participation from major private sector operators and logistics companies, including the National Logistics Cell, Ali Enterprises, Muhammad Ramzan & Company, and Gohar Hayat.
The overall outcome reflects a strong surge in public-private participation, with winning bids averaging around 30 percent above reserve prices. The process generated an estimated surplus of over Rs. 1 billion and 6 crore, highlighting improved revenue performance compared to previous cycles.
Among individual toll plazas, the highest monthly revenue was recorded at the Jamshoro plaza on Rs. 156.67 million, followed by the Sangjani plaza on the N-5 highway at Rs. 134.84 million. Certain locations also witnessed exceptional bidding competition, with the Bewata plaza on the N-70 and Nokundi plaza on the N-40 recording sharp increases of 880 percent and 154 percent above reserve prices respectively.
Despite strong overall performance, 12 toll plazas remain unawarded due to various issues, including one under court proceedings, nine with no bidder participation, and two that failed to attract initial registration. Officials stated that the remaining plazas will be finalized in the next phase of the auction process.
The NHA noted that the results demonstrate strong investor interest in Pakistan’s highway infrastructure and reflect improved efficiency in revenue generation from toll operations.
