OnePlus has revealed key details about the OnePlus 16 ahead of its official launch next week. The upcoming flagship will feature a BOE X4 LTPO OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 185Hz.
However, the maximum refresh rate will be limited to gaming mode. The display will support up to 165Hz during everyday use, while an additional 20Hz can be unlocked in supported games. These include Arena Breakout, Nizhan: Future, Naruto Mobile, and Peace Elite.
The panel uses BOE’s X4 luminescent material and can reach a minimum hardware brightness of 1 nit. This should make the screen more comfortable to use in dark environments. OnePlus has also highlighted its low power consumption, claiming it is comparable to a 120Hz display.
The OnePlus 16 will include several eye-care features, including TÜV Rheinland Smart Eye Protection 6.0. Its bezels will reportedly measure just 1.15mm, with the display manufactured using the LIPO (Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding) process.
Additionally, the phone will feature a custom display chip, a dedicated chip for touch response, and another chip for connectivity. These components are expected to support the display and overall user experience.
Beyond the screen, OnePlus has confirmed several key hardware details for the Chinese market. The OnePlus 16 will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset and pack a large 9,000mAh battery. Its camera setup will include a 200MP main sensor and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. More details are expected when OnePlus officially unveils the phone next week.
