Pak-ID App Brings New Feature for Online Fingerprint Verification

Applying for a passport just got significantly easier for Pakistani citizens. The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has collaborated with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to launch a new fingerprint confirmation system via the “NADRA Pak-ID” mobile app.

This update specifically targets applicants seeking new passports. It streamlines the online application process and utilises modern technology to reduce hassles.

The new process empowers applicants to verify their fingerprints directly through the “NADRA Pak-ID” mobile app. Consequently, you can complete this step at any time and from any location. You no longer need to worry about complex hardware or physical visits for this specific stage.

Moreover, the authorities have considered potential technical glitches. If a user faces difficulty during the fingerprint confirmation process, the app now provides a “Facial Recognition” option as an alternative. This ensures that the verification process remains uninterrupted.

2. Once you reach the fingerprint stage on the portal, log in to the Pak-ID mobile app.
3. Access the biometric verification section and select “Online Passport”.
4. Input your ‘passport tracking ID’ and ‘Identity Card number’.
5. The app will guide you through the fingerprint or facial recognition steps.

Once you successfully complete the biometric confirmation, the system issues a message. It then directs you back to the web portal. Finally, you simply complete the remaining steps and submit your passport application online.
