Pakistan Railways has launched the second upgraded rake of the Awam Express as part of its ongoing efforts to improve passenger services and travel standards on the Peshawar-Karachi route.
The upgraded train service was formally inaugurated by Imran Hayat, who flagged off the train along with other railway officials during a ceremony held in Peshawar.
According to Pakistan Railways, the newly upgraded rake offers modern facilities, improved seating arrangements, and enhanced onboard comfort for passengers traveling between Peshawar and Karachi, one of the country’s busiest railway corridors.
Railway officials said the initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize passenger services, improve travel experiences, and attract more commuters to rail transport.
Passengers welcomed the launch and appreciated the department’s efforts to upgrade facilities and enhance service quality on long-distance routes.
The introduction of upgraded rakes is expected to improve convenience and comfort for travelers while supporting Pakistan Railways’ plans to modernize its fleet and strengthen public transportation services nationwide.
