Pakistan Set To Begin Large Scale Production For PakVac

In recent news, the government authorities have decided to begin the large-scale production of the Pakistan-made COVID-19 vaccine called ‘PakVac’ and currently, preparations are underway.

The National Institute of Health Islamabad will prepare monthly three million doses of the vaccine due to the high demand. According to sources:
“Monthly production of three million vaccine doses will ensure sufficient availability of the corona vaccine jabs, which would significantly reduce the country’s dependence on other countries. The raw material of the vaccine will be provided by China’s Cansino Biologics.”

Based on these sources, the government has made a deal with Cansio Bio for 20 million prepared doses and the respective raw material. However, the raw material will be procured from China. Before that, the government had purchased over 27.5 million doses of vaccine from China which includes Sinopharm, Sinovac, and Can Sino.
