Bangladesh Cricket Board (PCB) has granted Nahid Rana a No-Objection (NOC) Certificate to return to PSL 2026 and represent Peshawar Zalmi in the final on 3 May.
The cricket authority in Bangladesh had initially issued Nahid an NOC valid only until 13 April, after which he was withdrawn from the tournament to manage his workload carefully.
The board confirmed that its medical team had cleared the participation of Nahid, stating his involvement in the final would not affect his fitness or national duty availability.
The BCB said the decision was made considering the significance of participating in the final of a major global franchise competition for the development of the player.
Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi publicly thanked BCB president Tamim Iqbal on Wednesday for approving Nahid Rana’s return to the PSL for the title match.
Before leaving for Bangladesh duty, Nahid played four matches for Peshawar Zalmi, taking seven wickets at an average of 10.85 and an economy rate of 5.42.
His standout PSL performance came against Karachi Kings, where he claimed three wickets for just seven runs as Karachi were bowled out for 87 runs.
Nahid also took five wickets for 32 runs for Bangladesh in the second ODI against New Zealand and finished the series as its leading wicket-taker.
He claimed eight wickets across the New Zealand ODI series at an average of 16.75, further establishing himself as a key performer for the Bangladesh national team.
The BCB had originally rested Nahid for six days, after which he was scheduled to begin training for Bangladesh’s Test series against Pakistan starting 8 May.
The first Test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan begins in Dhaka on 8 May, just five days after the PSL final in which Nahid is now confirmed to participate.
The BCB confirmed that despite his involvement in the PSL final, Nahid Rana remains on track to be available for selection for the first Test against Pakistan.
