Punjab Home Department has extended Section 144 enforcement, continuing a province‑wide ban on outdoor drone flights for 30 days to address ongoing security concerns.
The official notification confirmed that the restriction applies to all open areas across Punjab, prohibiting drone operations under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898.
Authorities stated the measure aims to safeguard public safety, maintain law and order, and protect both public and private property from potential risks linked to drone usage.
Limited use of small drones will be permitted indoors at halls and marquees during events, with organizers responsible for ensuring safe operation at such gatherings.
Intelligence agencies and law enforcement institutions remain exempt from the restrictions, allowing continued operational use of drones for official security and surveillance purposes.
District administrations and police authorities have been directed to strictly enforce the orders, ensuring compliance with Section 144 across all areas of Punjab.
