Punjab University has launched a new online affiliation portal to digitize affiliation-related processes for colleges and improve transparency and record management.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali inaugurated the portal on Wednesday and also released the affiliation report for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 academic sessions. The report highlights progress in digital transformation, the expansion of affiliated colleges, increased student intake and the introduction of new academic programs.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali said the initiative reflects the university’s commitment to improving efficiency, transparency and education quality across its affiliated colleges. He also appreciated the Affiliation Branch for digitizing affiliation records.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akram said the new portal will enable colleges to submit applications online for new affiliations, affiliation extensions and increases in student intake limits. Colleges will also be able to access affiliation notifications and information about approved student intake and affiliation sessions.
The system will automatically transfer affiliation data to the registration portal, making it easier for colleges to submit student enrollment information. The university’s report also showed a significant increase in revenue collections from private and public sector colleges between the two academic sessions.
