Samsung Unveils Its Most Budget-Friendly M06 and M16 Smartphones

Samsung has expanded its M-series lineup in India with the launch of the Galaxy M06 5G and Galaxy M16 5G. Despite their new branding, these models are essentially rebranded versions of the Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy F06 5G, featuring minor cosmetic changes while retaining the same hardware.

These budget-friendly smartphones cater to users looking for 5G connectivity, solid hardware, long-term software support, and an affordable price tag.

Display and Design

The Galaxy M16 5G boasts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution, ensuring a smooth and vibrant viewing experience. Meanwhile, the Galaxy M06 5G comes with an LCD screen of a similar size, making it a more cost-effective option.

Samsung has also refreshed the design of the M16 5G by introducing a unified camera island, replacing the three separate camera rings seen in previous models.

Both devices come in stylish color options:

• Galaxy M16 5G – Blush Pink, Mint Green, Thunder Black
• Galaxy M06 5G – Sage Green, Blazing Black

Performance and Software

The Galaxy M16 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, offering a balance between performance and efficiency. It runs on One UI 7 (based on Android 15) and benefits from Samsung’s six-year software update policy, ensuring long-term support.

The Galaxy M06 5G features the same processor but is available with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It runs a lighter version of Samsung’s software, One UI Core 7.0, and comes with four years of security updates and four Android OS upgrades.

Camera Capabilities

Both phones feature triple-camera setups, but with some differences:

• Galaxy M16 5G – 50MP primary sensor, 5MP ultrawide lens, 2MP macro lens
• Galaxy M06 5G – 50MP primary sensor, but the ultrawide and macro lenses may be absent or offer limited functionality

For selfies and video calls, both devices have decent front cameras, making them suitable for everyday use and social media.

Battery and Pricing

Both smartphones are equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, ensuring all-day performance. The Galaxy M16 5G supports 25W fast charging, whereas the Galaxy M06 5G may have a slightly slower charging speed due to its budget-friendly nature.

In terms of everyday performance, both models handle web browsing, social media, and video streaming efficiently. However, the M16 5G holds an edge in gaming and multitasking due to its Dimensity processor.
