Samsung’s Privacy Display feature has become one of the standout additions to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. However, a new rumor suggests that Samsung may not keep the technology exclusive for long.
According to the latest report, Samsung Display plans to offer its Privacy Display technology to other smartphone brands by the end of 2028. Until then, several Chinese smartphone makers are exploring their own alternatives with the help of local display manufacturers.
Recent reports revealed that Xiaomi is working on a similar Privacy Display solution for its upcoming 18 Pro. Now, Honor has also joined the race. The company is reportedly developing comparable technology in partnership with a Chinese display panel supplier.
At this stage, it remains unclear how these Chinese-developed solutions will compare with Samsung’s implementation. Performance, viewing angles, and overall user experience could differ depending on the technology used.
The report further claims that Honor is already testing the feature on two upcoming smartphones. One device reportedly has a 6.3-inch display, while the other features a larger 6.8-inch panel. These models are believed to be part of the Magic9 series, which is expected to debut later this year.
