The Sindh government has decided to modernize the province’s examination system by introducing e-marking and digital technologies across all educational boards to improve transparency, efficiency and accuracy in the assessment process.
The decision was discussed during a high-level meeting between Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ismail Rahoo and representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Under the proposed initiative, traditional manual paper checking will be replaced with an electronic marking system designed to streamline the evaluation process and minimize the chances of human error.
To facilitate the transition, board officials will receive specialized training from information technology experts. The government also plans to procure modern equipment, including high-speed scanners, paper-cutting machines and secure servers, to support the new digital infrastructure.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister Rahoo said the reforms are aimed at aligning Sindh’s examination system with international standards. He added that the proposal will be presented to the Sindh Cabinet for final approval in the coming days.
The government has appointed Karachi Intermediate Board Chairman Faqir Muhammad Lakho as the focal person to oversee the implementation of the project.
Officials believe the digital transformation will improve the accuracy of result preparation, reduce processing delays and enable educational boards to announce examination results more efficiently.
