Pakistan’s domestic mobile phone assembly sector has experienced a dramatic shakeup. VGO TEL has officially surged ahead to become the largest local handset producer during the first nine months of the year. This milestone marks a significant transition in the country’s manufacturing landscape, ending long-running dominance by prior market leaders.
Fresh data tracking locally manufactured devices shows that VGO TEL produced an impressive 2.50 million handsets between January and September. Infinix followed closely in the second position with 1.96 million units assembled, while Itel secured third place with 1.59 million devices.
Additional major contributors included TECNO at 1.16 million units, Samsung at 1.04 million, and Vivo at 0.99 million. Nokia and other prominent local players also maintained steady manufacturing volumes across the period.

This performance highlights a major reversal from previous years. Throughout 2024 and 2025, Infinix consistently held the top ranking for domestic assembly, supported by high consumer demand for affordable smartphones. However, shifting competitive strategies and aggressive market positioning allowed VGO TEL to capture the leading spot during the latest reporting cycle.
The steady expansion of domestic assembly infrastructure has transformed Pakistan’s telecom ecosystem. By shifting reliance away from expensive commercial imports of finished goods, local assembly plants now supply the vast majority of mobile handsets purchased across the country. Industry experts note that the ongoing success of these local operations will rely heavily on component availability, stable exchange rates, and competitive pricing strategies.
As domestic brands continue scaling up their production capabilities, the competitive race among local manufacturers remains fierce. The remarkable rise of VGO TEL demonstrates that Pakistan’s mobile assembly market is maturing rapidly, offering consumers a diverse array of locally manufactured options while strengthening the country’s broader technology manufacturing footprint.
