Earlier this week, South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee rated 29 classic Capcom titles. Consequently, this massive leak heavily suggests that the Japanese publisher is preparing a brand-new retro compilation for its fans.
Capcom previously focused on arcade modernizations for its recent re-releases. However, this new list completely shifts that strategy. Every single game on this leaked list originally received a full home console release on systems like the NES and SNES. Capcom has not officially announced the project yet. Therefore, fans still do not know if these titles will launch in one massive collection or across multiple standalone releases.
The Return of Cult Classics & Dormant Capcom IPs
This leaked list features some of the biggest action platformers and beat ’em ups from the 16-bit era. Furthermore, it revives several dormant franchises that fans have begged to see again. The inclusion of Breath of Fire and Breath of Fire 2 stands out as the most exciting revelation for RPG fans.
Moreover, Capcom is not just bringing back mainstream blockbusters. The publisher included several obscure cult classics that never achieved massive commercial success. For instance, players will see atmospheric platformers like Demon’s Crest and Gargoyle’s Quest 2. The list even features weird spin-offs like Mega Man Soccer and the cartoonish Mighty Final Fight.
Here are all 29 games rated by the South Korean committee:

Relying on Catalog Sales for Record Profits
Developing retro collections requires some upfront investment. However, these compilations offer Capcom a reliable way to generate massive financial hits using games it already owns. This strategy completely avoids the enormous expenses associated with brand-new AAA productions.
Recently, Capcom reported its ninth consecutive year of record profits for the fiscal year ending March 2026. Unsurprisingly, newer blockbusters like Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword helped sustain this massive financial momentum. Meanwhile, Capcom’s latest financial results strongly emphasize the underlying importance of catalog sales. Older releases continue to generate substantial revenue alongside modern hits. Ultimately, this upcoming console collection proves that Capcom’s forgotten games still hold immense financial value today.
