WhatsApp Might Finally Add Long-Awaited Video Call Features
While not the most essential feature, the ability to react during a video call adds convenience. While platforms like Google Meet and Zoom have long offered this functionality, WhatsApp has lacked it until now.
In the latest beta version (2.25.5.21), we found that WhatsApp is working on adding new video call features, including a “Raise hand” option and emoji reactions. These features can be accessed by tapping the three-dot menu in the bottom bar.
With emoji reactions, users can respond to conversations using a heart, laughing face, crying face, shocked face, or folded hands emoji. Meanwhile, the “Raise hand” feature allows participants to signal a question or request to speak without interrupting the discussion.
These long-awaited additions could make WhatsApp video calls more interactive and engaging.
