Xiaomi has officially revealed the design of its upcoming Xiaomi 18 Fold and confirmed its launch date. The company will unveil its new wide-screen foldable in China on September 7, following its earlier confirmation that the device will use the Xring O3 chipset.
The launch will take place two days before Apple is expected to introduce its own wide-screen foldable, reportedly called the iPhone Ultra. Xiaomi also shared the Xiaomi 18 Fold in a Nishino Red color option alongside the launch announcement.
The newly revealed design shows a triple rear camera system with an LED flash. Xiaomi has placed the cameras inside a horizontal, pill-shaped camera module. The foldable also features large rounded corners and slim bezels around its displays.
Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Fold will feature a 5.38-inch cover display. Inside, the device will offer a larger 7.58-inch foldable screen for multitasking and other tasks.
The company has also released a video showing parts of the phone’s internal design. The footage offers a closer look at its components and the hinge mechanism that supports the foldable display.
Meanwhile, a recent Geekbench listing suggests the Xiaomi 18 Fold could offer up to 16GB of RAM. The device is also expected to run Android 17 out of the box, although Xiaomi has yet to confirm these specifications officially.
With the September 7 launch approaching, Xiaomi is now revealing more details about its next foldable. The Xiaomi 18 Fold will enter the market at an interesting time, especially as Apple is also expected to reveal its first wide-screen foldable days later.
