Xiaomi’s next foldable phone has appeared in leaked hands-on images ahead of its expected September launch. The Xiaomi 18 Fold is set to use the new Xring O3 chipset. The leaked images were shared on Weibo and appear to show an engineering prototype. As a result, some design details could change before Xiaomi releases the final phone.
The prototype shown in the images comes in a dark red shade called “Dark Cherry.” This color is also expected to become a major trend across upcoming smartphones.
On the back, Xiaomi appears to have placed three cameras inside a wide visor-style camera module. The design also highlights the short and wide shape of the foldable phone. The Xiaomi 18 Fold could give Xiaomi a stronger position in the growing foldable market. However, more details about its display, cameras, battery, and pricing remain unknown.
For now, the leaked prototype offers an early look at Xiaomi’s next foldable. The company is expected to reveal the Xiaomi 18 Fold officially in September.
