Xiaomi has opened beta recruitment for HyperOS 4 in global and EEA markets. Users can now apply to test the company’s upcoming software update before its wider release. The beta is available for selected Xiaomi devices, including the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Leica Leitzphone by Xiaomi, and Xiaomi 17. However, beta software can contain bugs and other issues. Xiaomi does not recommend installing it on a primary daily-use device.
Users who want to join can apply through the Xiaomi Community app. They need to open the “Me” section, select “Beta testing,” and then choose “Recruiting test.” A questionnaire will then appear for applicants to complete.
Xiaomi also warns that some beta versions may require Xiaomi Account verification. Users who are accepted will receive the HyperOS 4 beta through an over-the-air update.
There is one important limitation for testers who later change their minds. Returning to the stable HyperOS 3 version requires manually flashing the firmware. Xiaomi does not offer a simple over-the-air downgrade option.
The beta program will also expand to more devices on September 17. Xiaomi will add the Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi 15, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra to the recruitment list.
The company has provided additional information about the HyperOS 4 beta through the source link. Interested users should review the requirements before applying.
