Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 series will launch in China this month. The announcement follows a recent leak that claimed the new lineup would arrive in July.
The company shared the news during a major milestone for the Redmi Note series. In a post on Weibo, Xiaomi Redmi announced that global sales of the Redmi Note lineup have now crossed 500 million units.
The Redmi Note series has remained in the market for about 12 years. During that time, it became one of the brand’s most successful smartphone families. The upcoming Redmi Note 17 series will replace last year’s Note 15 lineup. It will bring upgrades in performance, display quality, battery life, and other key areas.
According to recent leaks, the standard Redmi Note 17 will feature the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. It is also expected to include a flat display with a 1.5K resolution. The phone may offer a 50MP main rear camera and a large 9,000mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 17 Pro is expected to deliver even bigger hardware improvements. Reports suggest it will use the Dimensity 7500 SoC. The device could also pack a massive 10,000mAh battery. In addition, it is tipped to feature a 200MP main rear camera.
Redmi has not yet revealed the official launch date. However, with the company confirming a July debut, more details about the Redmi Note 17 series should arrive soon.
