Youtube Videos Stuck At 144p Google Confirms Investigation Into Streaming Issues

PTA clarification on YouTube comes after an old press release from September 2012, which announced the platform’s shutdown following Supreme Court orders, resurfaced on social media. The authority emphasized that the content being circulated is outdated and does not reflect the current situation.

Currently, no instructions have been given by the PTA to block or shut down YouTube or any other social media platform in Pakistan. The regulatory body reaffirmed that all major platforms remain accessible without disruption.

“PTA clarifies that the content being circulated is outdated and irrelevant to the current circumstances. At present, no instructions have been issued by PTA to block or shut down YouTube or any other social media platform,” the authority said in a statement.

In its PTA clarification on YouTube, the authority urged the public to rely exclusively on information published on its official website and verified PTA social media accounts and channels to avoid misinformation.

PTA stressed that depending on unofficial sources could lead to unnecessary confusion and panic, and reminded citizens to stay vigilant against the spread of outdated or false information.
