Starting May 5, WhatsApp officially stopped working on several older iPhone models. This marks the end of the road for users still holding on to aging Apple devices like the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus.
Why is WhatsApp doing this?
The Meta-owned messaging giant is phasing out support for devices that can no longer keep up with evolving security standards and feature updates. To maintain the integrity and performance of its platform, WhatsApp has set iOS 15.1 as the new minimum requirement for iPhones. Unfortunately, the affected models are incapable of running this version.
