UAE Clarifies No Visa Ban on Pakistan
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has temporarily suspended the issuance of work and tourist visas for citizens from nine African and Asian nations, sparking widespread speculation online. However, UAE authorities have clarified that no visa ban applies to Pakistan.
According to an immigration circular, the affected countries are Uganda, Sudan, Somalia, Cameroon, Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen, Lebanon, and Bangladesh. Applications from these nations have been halted until further notice. Reports suggest the suspension could be linked to security concerns or diplomatic considerations, though the UAE has not issued an official statement explaining the decision.
No UAE Visa Ban on Pakistan
Officials confirmed there is no blanket UAE visa ban for Pakistani nationals seeking work, residence, or tourist permits. However, some Pakistani applicants may be facing delays or stricter scrutiny under new immigration regulations.
Earlier in 2025, the UAE introduced a five-year multiple-entry visa for Pakistanis, with officials affirming that “visa issues have been resolved” and citizens are eligible to apply.
Visa delays for Pakistanis are often attributed to documentation issues, such as incomplete or fake papers, previous overstays, or records of non-compliance. Additionally, the UAE has recently tightened visa procedures for all countries, introducing new conditions like confirmed hotel bookings, return airfare, and enhanced security checks.
These updated requirements may have contributed to the perception of a “visa ban,” but officials emphasize that Pakistan remains unaffected by any such restrictions.
