Intel Confirms Arc B770 As ‘Big Battlemage’ GPU Moves Closer to Launch
Intel has confirmed the existence of its next-generation “Big Battlemage” GPU, widely believed to power the upcoming desktop Intel Arc B770 graphics card. The confirmation comes through a recent update to Intel’s VTune Profiler software, which now lists “Arc Battlemage (BMG-G31)” alongside the latest Core Ultra 3 processors.
The BMG-G31 GPU is expected to offer a substantial upgrade over current mid-range cards such as the Intel Arc B580. Available leaks suggest the card could feature up to 32 Xe2 cores, 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, and a 256-bit memory interface, specifications that would position it as a solid mid- to upper-mid-range GPU.
Rumors and leaks have fueled speculation that the Intel Arc B770 could offer performance in the ballpark of competing GPUs such as NVIDIA’s RTX 4070, while potentially undercutting price-wise. These rumors include shipping manifests and driver updates.
Given the confirmed Battlemage architecture support and pending release, the B770 may be the discrete-GPU alternative many gamers and PC builders have been waiting for. Especially those seeking strong 1440p performance without going top-tier.
As hardware partners gear up for retail launch and pre-release reviews, attention will turn to pricing, real-world performance, and driver maturity, all key factors that will determine whether the Arc B770 can compete in a crowded GPU market.
Intel has not yet officially named or formally launched the GPU. Many industry watchers anticipate the full reveal to take place at a major tech event like CES 2026.
