Samsung could be preparing a major battery upgrade for its upcoming Galaxy S27 series. New details have now surfaced about the batteries inside two models. The latest information comes from the same source that recently shared details about the Galaxy S27 family’s cameras in a previous leak. This time, the focus is on battery capacity, and the news looks promising.
According to the leak, the Galaxy S27 Pro could feature a battery with a rated capacity of 5,087 mAh. Samsung may market it with a typical capacity of 5,200 mAh.
That would be an impressive battery for a smaller Galaxy S27 model. It could also give users better battery life during daily use. The Galaxy S27 Ultra, meanwhile, could receive an even bigger battery. The flagship model is reportedly expected to feature a rated capacity of 5,534 mAh.
Samsung may advertise the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s battery with a typical capacity of 5,700 mAh. If accurate, this would mark a clear increase over the current generation.
For comparison, the Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 5,000 mAh battery. Therefore, both the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra could offer larger batteries than Samsung’s current Ultra model. The increase could also point to another major change inside Samsung’s upcoming phones. The higher capacities suggest that Samsung may finally adopt silicon-carbon anodes for its smartphone batteries.
Chinese smartphone makers started using this battery technology years ago. Silicon-carbon batteries can offer higher energy density without requiring a much larger battery size.
