Nadra Digital Verification System

A new digital identity system is now live through the Pak ID app, giving applicants the ability to verify their fingerprints without visiting an office. The launch follows a collaboration with the National Database and Registration Authority and aims to streamline identity checks for millions of users.

The upgrade arrives after repeated complaints from overseas Pakistanis who struggled with online fingerprint submissions. Officials said the new system improves accuracy and reduces failed attempts. It also adds facial verification for users who cannot complete fingerprint checks, which creates a more flexible process.

Director General of Passports and Immigration Mustafa Jamal said the revamped system will ease identity verification for senior citizens and Pakistanis living abroad. He added that the department is adopting modern tools to improve public services and deliver faster digital access.

Jamal noted that the goal is to remove long-standing hurdles in document processing and ensure citizens can verify their identity from anywhere.
