Fortnite Servers Back Online After Major Christmas Holiday Outage

Fortnite is finally back online. Epic Games has resolved the major outage that plagued players during the Christmas holiday. Servers are now functioning, and matchmaking has returned to normal.

Fortnite Outage: A Christmas Eve Nightmare

Trouble started on Christmas Eve. Reports of server issues began flooding in around 05:00 PM PT on December 24 / 06:00 AM Pakistan Standard Time (PKT) on December 25. According to Down Detector, these reports peaked at 25,000. Players took to social media to complain about the timing, as many were hoping to enjoy their time off during the holiday.

Epic Games acknowledged the problem quickly. They confirmed a “major outage” specifically impacting logins. Unfortunately, the issue was not limited to just Fortnite. The blackout also extended to Rocket League and Fall Guys, leaving a large portion of the Epic Games ecosystem in the dark.

The Road to Recovery

Epic Games worked through the night and into Christmas morning to fix the servers. At 6:52 AM PKT on December 25, the Fortnite Status account confirmed they were investigating the login issues.

Progress was steady but required drastic measures. By 8:07 AM PKT, developers warned that players currently logged in might be kicked from the game while they worked to restore services.

Servers Are Live

The wait is over. As of 10:24 AM PKT today, December 25, Epic Games confirmed that game servers are back online. Players are now matchmaking successfully. The developers will continue to monitor server health to ensure stability remains consistent.

If you were unable to log in earlier, you can now safely return to the game.
