Spotify is making it easier to read lyrics while your music plays. The streaming giant has started rolling out a new update that brings song lyrics directly into the Now Playing screen, putting them front and center for listeners.
The change was first spotted by Reddit users. They noticed that the current song’s lyrics now appear just below the album art on the main Now Playing view. This means you no longer need to scroll down or open a separate panel to follow along with the words.
At the same time, Spotify has kept the full lyrics window intact. It still sits below the Now Playing screen for those who prefer a larger, dedicated view while listening. So, users can choose the experience that suits them best.
Importantly, the feature is optional. If you do not like seeing lyrics under the album art, you can turn them off. In addition, Spotify is testing a resize option for the full-screen lyrics mode. Some users have already seen this feature inside the Spotify Beta app.
Because this is a server-side update, the rollout may take time. Not everyone will see the change immediately. As with most gradual releases, availability will expand over the coming weeks.
