The Jamaica Tallawahs will return to the 2026 CPL under new American owners, Kingsmen Sports Enterprise, who recently invested in a Pakistan Super League (PSL) team.
The three-time CPL champions missed the last two editions after former owner Kris Persaud sold the franchise back to the league in late 2023 due to a lack of government support.
Persaud subsequently acquired a new franchise in Antigua, named the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, leaving Jamaica without a team for the past two CPL seasons.
Kingsmen ownership
Kingsmen Sports Enterprise, led by Pakistani entrepreneur Fawad Sarwar in the US, has purchased the rights to the franchise and aims to promote Jamaica as a hub for cricket, culture, and sportainment.
Sarwar was involved in acquiring one of the two new PSL franchises, Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, and also operates Chicago Kingsmen in the United States’ Minor League Cricket competition.
The franchise’s new name has not been publicly confirmed, though Kingsmen have promised to relaunch the team with fresh branding for the 2026 season starting in August.
