Gold prices in Pakistan fell sharply on Tuesday, declining by Rs 13,900 per tola as international rates dropped. The price of 24-karat gold settled at Rs 549,962 per tola in the local market. The decline followed a fall in global bullion prices.
According to rates issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs 11,917 to Rs 471,503. The price of 22-karat gold was recorded at Rs 432,226 per 10 grams.
A day earlier, gold had risen by Rs 13,300 to reach Rs 563,862 per tola, reflecting strong momentum in the domestic market. Tuesday’s drop marks a significant reversal after recent gains.
In the international market, gold prices fell by $139 to $5,272 per ounce. Local prices are usually calculated with a premium of $20 over the international rate, which directly influences domestic pricing. Silver prices also moved lower. The price of 24-karat silver declined by Rs 1,146 to Rs 8,904 per tola, while 10 grams of silver dropped by Rs 983 to Rs 7,633.
On a day-on-day basis, gold fell from Rs 563,862 to Rs 549,962 per tola, while silver decreased from Rs 10,050 to Rs 8,904 per tola.
