Google is widening access to one of its newer search experiences, bringing Search Live to more users worldwide. The feature, first introduced in June last year, is now rolling out across more than 200 countries and territories. It is available wherever AI Mode works, and it supports all the same languages.
Search Live adds a conversational layer to Google Search. Users can interact with it by opening the Google app on Android or iOS and tapping the Live icon below the search bar. From there, they can ask questions and receive spoken answers. They can also continue the conversation with follow-up queries or explore further through web links.
In addition, the feature allows users to interact with real-world objects. By enabling the camera, users can point at something and ask how it works or how to set it up. This visual input helps provide better context. The same option is available through Google Lens, where users can tap the Live button at the bottom of the screen.
The experience may feel familiar to those who have used Gemini Live. However, this version is built directly into Google Search rather than the Gemini app. The core idea remains simple, offering a natural way to ask and explore information.
For those who prefer reading instead of listening, there is a Transcript option. It converts spoken responses into text. Search Live can also run in the background, so users can keep talking even while using other apps.
