Apple is adding a new iOS 27 feature that lets users use one phone number across two iPhones. The feature is called iPhone Handoff.
iPhone Handoff will be available when iOS 27 is released to everyone on Monday. Apple announced the feature during its launch event for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Duo.
The feature will initially launch with T-Mobile in the US and Telekom in Germany. T-Mobile has now confirmed that the service will cost $5 per month.
With iPhone Handoff, users can connect one T-Mobile number to two iPhones. However, the number can only remain active on one iPhone at a time.
The feature will be available through the Settings app on any iPhone running iOS 27. The new iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Duo will support it from launch.
This means owners of the new iPhones can use iPhone Handoff without waiting for another software update. The feature could also make it easier for users who regularly switch between two iPhones.
