PUBG: Battlegrounds finally launched its highly anticipated Prop Hunt mode yesterday, March 31. However, the developers included a massive catch. This game mode is strictly a limited-time event. Players only have until April 7 to experience the hide-and-seek chaos.
How the Hunt Works
Matches feature 12 players per round. Nine players spawn as Props, while three play as Hunters. The game kicks off with a strict preparation phase. Props receive a temporary movement boost to secure a hiding spot. Meanwhile, Hunters wait in a designated zone with heavily restricted vision.
Once the hunt begins, Hunters scour the map to track down their targets. Therefore, they must shoot carefully. Firing at anything other than a Prop actively drains a Hunter’s HP. To survive, Props utilize defensive abilities to throw Hunters off their trail, including a Stun-Gun, Decoy, and Prop Switch.
As the round closes, the game activates Fever Time. This chaotic phase arms Hunters with extra weapons. Furthermore, it completely removes the HP penalty for misfiring. Currently, players can drop into this mode on the Miramar, Rono, and Vikendi maps.
PUBG: Battlegrounds Crossovers & Community Demands
The Prop Hunt event successfully draws returning players back to the battle royale. Unsurprisingly, fans already demand that the developers make this temporary mode permanent. Additionally, the team keeps the momentum going by teasing an upcoming Stellar Blade crossover featuring the character Eve.
The Death of PUBG: Blindspot
Despite the main game’s momentum, Krafton’s broader universe is actively stumbling. Two days ago, on March 30, Team ARC officially shut down the spin-off PUBG: Blindspot. The game completely failed to secure a player base. Fans heavily bashed the title for its bugs, glitches, and highly unoriginal gameplay loop.
Consequently, this sudden shutdown sparks massive community concern. Krafton currently has another spin-off, PUBG: Black Budget, in development. Ultimately, players now actively question the publisher’s competence regarding the franchise’s future.
