Blizzard officially revealed the next hero joining Overwatch in Reign of Talon Season 2. Currently known as Hero 51, this character brings a unique drone-commanding playstyle to the damage class. Players will see her action-packed Hero Trailer next week on April 8. Furthermore, she officially joins the roster on April 14, 2026.
Meet Hero 51: The Drone-Commanding Soldier
This new feminine hero wears an athletic green-and-red uniform featuring a Helix Security logo. She has tan skin and a striking floor-length pink braid. Additionally, she wields a long, two-pronged rifle that likely shoots unique projectiles. Her standout feature is a matching pink flying drone.
Associate Game Director Alec Dawson previously confirmed she is a damage hero with ranged abilities. Consequently, players speculate she will utilize her drone to summon targetable NPC allies. This mechanic directly resembles Bastion’s Ultimate in the Mirrorwatch game mode.
Lore Speculation: Frankie or a New Face?
Initially, fans suspected this hero was Frankie from Ashe’s Deadlock Rebels. Frankie famously commands microdrones for communication and recon. Moreover, the Deadlock gang is currently helping Vendetta strike Watchpoint: Grand Mesa. This location is a former Overwatch base now under Helix control.
However, visual details tell a completely different story. Frankie has short lavender hair and wears hologlasses. In contrast, Hero 51 sports an exceptionally long pink braid and lacks glasses entirely. Importantly, the Helix Security logo on her uniform suggests she might actually fight against the Deadlock Rebels in an upcoming showdown. Therefore, she is likely a brand-new character in the Overwatch lore.
