Google is expanding its in-car experience by bringing Google Meet to Apple CarPlay. The move aims to help users stay connected while driving, without adding distractions. Now, joining meetings on the road becomes much easier, as drivers can connect with a single tap.
With this update, Google Meet appears alongside other CarPlay apps on the car’s dashboard. It also works smoothly with your iPhone, so ongoing sessions can continue without interruption. As a result, users are less likely to miss important discussions during travel.
However, Google has limited the feature to audio-only calls for safety. While driving, users cannot turn on the camera or view video feeds. Instead, they can only listen and speak, which helps maintain focus on the road.
In addition, the CarPlay version allows users to check their upcoming meeting schedule. This makes it easier to stay organized while commuting. Google also confirmed that support for Android Auto will arrive soon.
