Islamabad District Administration has ordered all shops, markets, and shopping malls across the capital to close by 8:00 PM, starting from 23 April 2026, under new austerity directives.
The DC Islamabad shared the official notice on his Twitter account, announcing the revised business timings as part of ongoing austerity measures introduced by the district government.
All restaurants, tandoors, grocery stores, and food outlets operating across Islamabad must now shut their doors no later than 10:00 PM, according to the officially issued district notice.
Takeaway and food delivery services linked to restaurants and food outlets are not covered by the restriction and will continue operating beyond 10:00 PM without any imposed limitation.
Marriage halls, marquees, and event venues throughout the capital city are also required to cease operations by 10:00 PM each night, under the terms of the new district directive.
Sports facilities, fitness clubs, and gyms in Islamabad are similarly bound by the 10:00 PM closing order, which applies throughout the week without any day-specific exemptions or exceptions.
Pharmacies, hospitals, petrol pumps, CNG stations, and dairy shops are officially exempt from the 8:00 PM restriction and may continue to serve residents at any hour of the night.
The district administration has urged both the general public and the wider business community in Islamabad to comply fully with the newly issued timings until further official orders arrive.
