The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has issued a revised schedule for Secondary School Certificate examinations at overseas centres, resuming previously postponed papers.
SSC Part‑I annual examinations 2026 will now begin on May 5 in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain, according to the official notification.
Examinations were partially postponed in March due to regional tensions, affecting centres in Iran, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, while continuing elsewhere.
Further details regarding examination arrangements and the complete date sheet will be communicated separately to institutions and candidates, the board confirmed in its notification.
Institutions and students have been advised to remain prepared and ensure necessary arrangements ahead of the revised schedule announced for overseas examination centres.
Earlier, the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced a revised examination pattern for SSC‑I Science subjects, applicable from the 2027 annual examinations.
Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science will follow the new structure, according to the official notification issued by the board on Tuesday.
The theory paper will now carry 60 marks, reduced from the previous 75 marks, while the objective section will consist of 60 multiple‑choice questions.
Each multiple‑choice question will be worth 0.5 marks, including five scenario‑based sets containing four questions each, designed to assess conceptual understanding.
The board confirmed 30 per cent focus will be placed on knowledge‑based cognitive skills, following the Table of Specifications provided in the notification.
The subjective section will carry 30 marks, comprising five questions worth six marks each, including three split‑type questions and two longer questions with sub‑parts.
