The chief minister’s task force on examination reforms has introduced strict new rules for Matriculation Practical Examinations 2026. These steps focus on transparency and merit across all exam centers.
The government wants to end the use of ready-made practical notebooks. In addition, teachers and staff have been told to follow the new rules carefully. Any violation may lead to strict penalties or disciplinary action.
Under the updated system, teachers must personally check each student’s work. They are also required to self-attest both the practical notebook and the student’s handwriting. This step is meant to confirm that the work is genuine.
Moreover, examiners will no longer accept practical notebooks bought from the market. Any notebook prepared by someone else will be rejected immediately. As a result, students must complete their own laboratory work during the academic year.
To stop the reuse of submitted material, the task force has added a cancellation process. After verification, staff must cancel or tear the practical copies. This ensures that the same notebook cannot be used again. It also blocks the illegal selling or sharing of completed work.
Furthermore, strict legal action will be taken against staff or examiners who ignore these instructions. The government says negligence will not be tolerated.
These reforms are part of wider efforts to modernize Punjab’s examination system. Ultimately, the task force aims to improve accountability and restore trust in practical assessments.
